Inspired by Smashing Pumpkins’ 1979 and its iconic music video, Shakedown 1979 reimagines that world as a vintage comic book cover. The car, convenience store, suburban streets, restless teenagers, and familiar faces come together in a snapshot of youth caught somewhere between boredom, freedom, and growing up.
Designed in the style of a late-1970s comic, the illustration captures the nostalgia at the heart of the song, when a car full of friends and nowhere in particular to be was enough to make a night unforgettable.
